So Much for the 1 Week Challenge

Well, it's been months and I've done absolutely nothing to further this challenge. I wouldn't say I've done nothing more to further my online business, but I haven't done enough to become successful.

And while the initial idea of writing way too many articles I can handle a day seems like a good idea, I've had time to kind of step back and take a look at the whole picture. I've found many valid resources that will help me make good money online. And while the articles have a huge part of that, there are also other things I'm going to share with you that will help you make money online.

So, let the challenge re-begin. This time with more attainable goals, better sources for making money online and more posts on this blog that you can keep checking back to.

One excellent source I found, you can check out here:

http://www.twok3ebooks.com

Sign up for that newsletter and you'll discover an amazing method for making easy affiliate commissions. I assure you, unless you already have the report, you've never heard of anything like this. It will absolutely help you attain the $100/day mark.

That's it for now. Be prepared for consistent posts and updates on how to make $100 a day online.

Day 5 - Effective Keyword Research

Labels: , , ,

Effective keyword research. Quite the mystery to me.

I've been doing a lot lately. Keyword research. I'm not sure if the adjective "effective" applies. However I have learned one thing so far.

Diversify.

Don't rely on just one tool. Of course, when it comes to paying for tools, that might be a problem, but there are a lot of free tools you can use. Here are a few.

Free Keyword Tools

You should use all of these to research your keywords. Another piece of software I use, which isn't free is Niche Inspector. I'm not real sure how reliable the search results are, but it's good for determining how much a keyword is worth, which will, in turn, let you know if people searching for that term are the buying type.

I found the niche I'm using to promote affiliate products with from Niche Inspector. And while I'm not using the keyword information from Niche Inspector exclusively, I am using it with my other research.

I'm going to try to do a video soon of the keyword research process. I think it's really important and most of the stuff I've read just hurry through it. I used to write a bunch of articles on keywords that had absolutely no searches and be excited about ranking well for them. Didn't bring in any traffic.

In my next post, I'm going to start delving into the actual process I'm using. It involves Bum Marketing with another process that I'm hoping will sky rocket my profits.

Day 4.5 - The Cure For Procrastination

Labels: , ,

It's 3:32 am and I'm drained of any energy I may have had 12 hours ago. I just sat in a small cubicle and talked to people I didn't want to in a place I'd rather never see again. I'm pretty tired and ready to sleep, but dread waking up to do it all over again.

This is what I'm trying to get out of.

This is what the whole challenge is about.

So what's my problem? Why haven't I started?

Procrastination. A trait I can't seem to lick.

But, I know what the answer is. All those words you see above that make up sentences... those are all excuses. My fatigue, my complaints... they're all excuses to not do what I should be doing. That's why I'm writing this post. It's my first step to overcoming procrastination.

Because I didn't want to write it. I'm too tired. But I'm doing it anyway. And that's the cure for procrastination.

Do it anyway.

No matter what the excuse is. I'm tired. Do it anyway. I'm drained of energy. Do it anyway. I'd rather watch a movie, play basketball, play guitar, read blogs...

DO IT ANYWAY.

I'm going to finish this challenge regardless of whether I do it in seven days. There will be 100 articles written and I will be making $100 a day.

And you'll be here to witness the entire thing.

Day 3 - Essential Tools

Labels: , ,

I'm not real certain I should consider this a tool. Though this may be an excuse, it is Sunday, so, I'm "resting". It may be just another excuse to procrastinate. I'm hoping that the amount of posts under the label "Procrastination" doesn't increase too much.

I'm going to take the time to go into some of the tools I'm using during this challenge. Of course, there aren't that many, considering all I'm really doing is writing articles. There is, however, the task of submitting them, and even finding information for research.

The very first tool, if you can call it that, is a web site. It is called Ezine Articles. I'm sure you've heard of it.

I use this as a research tool. This doesn't involve plagiarism. If there is one thing you should stay away from, it is stealing someones work to benefit from it. You can use articles from Ezine Articles for your site if you keep their resource section intact, but that's not what this challenge is about.

One important thing to remember when writing articles is to separate your research from your writing. If you try to do both at the same time, you'll accomplish absolutely nothing. You really need to concentrate, read, take notes, etc... while researching, and then, when you're done, start writing your articles.

I was going to go over all the tools, but I think I'll save the others for different posts... different days. I'm hoping to go in full blast this week and provide some results for all of you.

Day 2 - Staying Honest

Labels: ,

And to be honest...

I didn't write shit yesterday. Not one word towards my goal of 100 articles in one week. So, why am I telling you this?

I'm being honest. I need help to keep myself motivated. So I'm writing honestly and not making any excuses. I've procrastinated enough.

However, guess what's awesome?

I made an affiliate sale from the site that is the guinea pig of this project. This site is less than a month old and only has 2 articles posted to it and 2 articles submitted to article directories linking back to it.

How awesome is that? I haven't even done anything and I made a sale.

That doesn't mean I can just stop. On the contrary, it should motivate me to do more. If I can make just one sale with that amount of work, think of what 100 articles would do.

I'm gonna get there. You'll see.

Day 1 - Finally Getting Started

Labels: , ,

Well, it's taken me this long just to get started. I meant to start this challenge on Monday, April 7th, but here I am, 4 days later.

Procrastination is a prominent character trait of mine. One I'd like to eliminate.

This challenge consists of using article marketing to make a lot of money online. A lot of money for me anyways. I want to quit my job, so I'm putting myself through this challenge to motivate me to work for it everyday.

What is the 1 Week Article Marketing Challenge?

It was inspired by Bum Marketing. If you're not sure what that is, go here and find out. If you're in Internet Marketing, you should know what it is. Basically, you find a set of keywords with a particular set of criteria. Keywords that are searched for at least 2,000 times per month, and their competition in Google is between 5,000 and 10,000 (you determine this by searching for keywords in quotes).

What I'm going to do is write 100 articles in the Bum Marketing style, within one week. I already have a site set up to promote an affiliate program, and I'd like to see if I make any money from it. There are different tools and techniques I'm going to be using and I'll let you know exactly what they are as I go along.

As for a daily routine, for the next 7 days I'm going to attempt to write 15 articles a day. That is 105 articles. I'm going to submit 100 of them to article directories and post 5 of them to my existing site.

I'm hoping to make some videos and document the whole process, for myself and anyone else who would like to make money online.

So, I suppose I'm going to get started.
